Wednesday - 9/15/09

Things in my household have been a little hectic. My wife started working about 2 months ago at a local fast food joint (job market is really bad right now), and until this week, she was getting a mere 12 hours a week. Well this week she got a full 38-hour schedule, and this is good, except for the fact she works opening and I work nights. So for me, my days are getting off of work at 12:30am, then getting up at 5:00am and taking Angie to work, then getting the kids to school by 7:45am, and getting sleep until I pick Angie up at about 1:00pm. Add in money worries and housework that needs to get done, and you get one pooped pappy.

But I still get to play some games. Recently I tried Tiger Woods 2009 on Wii to see if I would like it. I have a Wii-Motion Plus from buying Wii Sports Resort, and it works great. The problem is that I only have one Wii-Motion Plus right now, so in an attempt to fix that, I was looking into whether I would try to get the Tiger Woods 2009 bundle or just buy it on its own. Well after playing some Tiger Woods Wii, I can say that I am not much of a golf video gamer. I didn’t really like the game at all. Not for any specific reason, just wasn’t into it. So looks like I might be getting me Wii-Motion Plus on its own.

I was attempting to try Virtual Tennis 2009 Wii, which doesn’t have a Wii-Motion Plus bundle, but I was curious. Unfortunately, the company I rent games from, Gamerang, messed up and sent me Virtual Tennis on 360 instead. I sent the game back, but seems they are unable to send me the Wii one. Small loss, I wasn’t too interested in it anyway.

Right now I am renting Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure and is waiting for the arrival of Batman Arkham Asylum soon. Henry Hatsworth is great. A mix of a platformer and a match 3 puzzle game (in the style and play of Tetris Attack), it is definitely unique. I am having fun with it, and the kids and Angie seem to like it as well.

Angie really wants to play Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, but for some reason Gamerang doesn’t stock that game. It probably doesn’t matter since we will probably buy Professor Layton anyway. Angie REALLY likes Layton a lot.

I haven’t been playing too much else as I have been spending most of my time watching Lost on Netflix On Demand. I must say that I am a fan of Lost now.
